So i'm sitting in a lab with my classmates who are trying to figure out how to load a 16mm film camera. We did it in class but can't seem to get it right now. I'm yawning and obviously not interested. I keep blurting out random thoughts in my head about my holiday - like how I didn't actually see any sort of ball at Times Square on new year's eve and how I keep dreaming about oversleeping and missing my Spanish class! So I thought might as well let them be. I open up my laptop and pretend to google ways to load the mag...
The new thing in my life is WINE!
My sister loves wine, just like she likes "all fine things in life" :)
So I had planned this VIP wine tour for her birthday when she was here. I thought she would love to know more about the wine-making process and I wouldn't mind tasting different kinds of alcoholic drinks and have a good time myself.
So we went and met these two very enthusiastic wine-makers who love to spread their love for the art of making wine. My sister loved it. I enjoyed the conversation with the guy. He was a well-travelled man with a great amount of knowledge about India and the sub-continent. By the end of it I was tired and had lost interest in the wine-talk. But when I came back I realize how I caught the wine-bug. Every time after that whenever I was presented with options of drinks, I would pick wine! I was amazed!
The reason was that wine became a puzzle for me. When we stood there in the winery tasting over twenty kinds of wine, all we did was smell it and try to recognize the smells - and taste it to guess what tastes it resembled. So what I didn't realize then was that the experience made me grow interested in playing this game of smell and taste.
I am so happy I conquered another drink! Now only scotch, whiskey, champagne.......
