I'm going to do the first shoot for my film tomorrow. I'm sort of nervous, but mostly just very happy. Tomorrow I'm going to start doing what I really came here to do. I am beginning my professional life with this film. I am relieved, excited, and so many other things that I can't categorize into words.
The film is about a group of Christian women who are pro-life activists and together run a non-profit abortion counselling center. I am pro-choice. They are pro-life. That's the challenge, and my reason for taking up this project. I am hoping to not only get some filming experience with this project, but also grow as a human being.
I think of myself as being very, very open-minded. The only thing that I reject is narrow-mindedness. I find it hard to have a conversation with some one who has a narrow view of life. I become aggressive and think of them as my ENEMY. I know there is a better way - and I hope I come out of this project knowing exactly what that is.
Okay, enough. I have to run now - my friend Brend's birthday celebration comes to an end tonight :( We're all going out for dinner in eight minutes.
Quick update. I found a Karachi-waali Aunty who made food for me (and charged money, of course). The food is home-made and better than I will ever get back home :)
I'm off now. Sweet dreams!

I think it'll be a great experience. I'm pro-choice all the way!
Oh dear god...when will I find my own Karachi-waali aunty?
Yay, yay Pro-Choice!
I don't mind sharing my Karachi-waali aunty if you're closeby :)
NC,
hey- good luck with the film. Prolife vs pro choice is an interesting debate.I think I am inbetween- prolife in some cases, pro choice in others..
good for u on the food front :)
Thanks so much, Daisy!
I understand your being in-between. It is a complicated issue. For me, pro-choice means it is the woman's decision to have or not have the baby - what could be better than that?
About food - yes, the present arrangement works for me - but I still need some cake pampering in CA ;)
