i did it

I just came back from the run. It was fun. It's windy today. Four degree celsius. I'm glad I took the plunge.

I had a large mug of warm chocolate milk as soon as I got back. I still have to take a shower. I had to start and finish an assignment for class today. Instead, I decided to blog.

I never miss an assignment/deadline. I'm not a nerd (whatever that means!). I'm a responsible person. I obviously am not responsible enough to do everything before hand - maybe that's what a nerd does - but I make sure I finish the work given to me. I rarely make excuses or ask for extensions on deadlines. I've always been like this. I remember even as a child, if I was caught talking in class by the teacher, I would make every effort to not be caught ever again. I think people who make the same mistake multiple times are idiots. Also, it's less of an ass-kissing thing, and more of a self-respect issue for me.

Having said that, I am not going to do my assignment today. This is for the visual anthropology class. I've been getting an A grade and an "excellent" remark on every assignment till now - twice a week. It is week five now, and I need a break from the 'A's. They're taking a toll on my ego ;)

(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)

Some things I still have to blog about - the 93 year old man I met last week; and the Iranian films I've been watching.

Also, there is some progress on the Tibet film screening that I'm trying to organise on my university campus. Will keep you updated.

Edited to add: I skipped the class altogether. Will email the assignment. :)

SKIPPING CLASS?

You know a professor (Adjuncts are professors too) reads your blog, right? ;-)

Professor Apple Bee,
I'm sorry to inform you that I've always been a class skipper. I think it's unhealthy to attend all classes. Unfortunately the tuition per class ratio here is around a thousand times of that in Delhi university, so I end up skipping only one or two classes per term, just to maintain my sanity. What about you? Don't you ever feel like skipping class?

I have to admit, I skipped a fair share of classes when I was in school. A significant percentage actually.

But as a professor, I skipped one class in this whole semester. I had a valid reason though - I was sick.

so do you not get paid for the class you skip?
