Mad About You Season 3 arrived today. Have been day dreaming about afternoons at my sister's place in Delhi - after playing with Baby T in the inflatable pool on the terrace, we'll go downstairs, darken the room, turn on the air conditioning, order pizza, bring out the cold beers, and with Baby T fast asleep beside me, we watch episode after episode of Mad About You until dinner time - that's when we order mutton kababs and chicken tikka rolls, and watch episode after episode of Sex and the City until we fall asleep.
The problem here is that my sister works. So this wouldn't be possible on weekdays :( Also, I'm obviously underestimating Baby T's energy levels. There will be power cuts, mood swings, and my mother. Can't think of any other obstacles right now.
I'm at the stage now where I can't really believe I'm going home. In eleven days. It's scary because familiarity brings comfort, and that's what I have here. This change will be difficult. I will find out what I really feel about living here, and the big question of which is better (which is a really stupid comparison to start with, yet unavoidable) will begin to be answered.
Lets come back to real life. I've been editing, and meeting my advisor (hyper howie) way too often. He's good and bad for me. I tend to take his suggestions seriously because he seems to have a clearer picture of what I had initially intended my film to be. On the other hand, he has a personal bias against the subjects of my film, so he tends to over-edit them. He is right about a lot of things, but I'm letting him take over, which I shouldn't. The film is due day after, so all this confusion will be over by tomorrow night, or latest by Friday morning. I heard some rumors today about how the film can be submitted on Friday, and then be switched with a newer version on Tuesday (the day of the screenings) - which would mean technically I have until next week to finish this - which means I can continue living in this state of utter confusion, or ignore this loop-hole and get my life back on Friday.
I just came back from dinner. Baked fish that I had marinated yesterday. I'm getting good at this, and can't help wondering if I'll pick this over that.
Have a good night. I'm going off to watch Jamie and Paul...
