random me

What fun it is to receive an unexpected comment - and I managed to screw it up! Such a strange coincidence that the comment was on my silly/senseless post about a name that amused me, and it came from someone who has a spouse (I'm assuming) with the same name (or nickname, I'm guessing). So if she is nice enough to ever visit me again, sorry Daisy - I meant no harm!

I had my last shoot of the quarter today - or I should say tonight. I was the boom. Ha ha - this is not funny you film-illiterates! It was a really physically taxing position. My arms started hurting after the very first shot! The boom pole was very heavy - okay, for all you ignorant readers, boom is the person on the crew who holds the microphone and records the sound for a film. So I was not excited about it, since I am not in a good physical state, despite what one sees from outside. But how could I forget that I love physically stressful tasks. As if my arms threatening to fall off wasn't enough, my feet got sudden horrible cramps which refused to go away for most of the evening. Overall I did a good job, I guess. In case I don't make it as a filmmaker, booming sounds like a fun job to put on my resume, and one that I am surely qualified for!

Had the most interesting conversation with RH last night. He is quite unpredictable when he's drunk - which is quite fun! We are planning an end-of-quarter party at Aki's apartment - though Aki is unsure about it. I come up with these ambitious ideas and somehow they end up materializing. Lets see what happens with this bollywood theme party of mine! Maybe I should dress up like...ummm...lets just say a traditional Indian woman. It would be a shame going back home without ever using the bunch of fancy Indian clothes that I got from home. And since I will never actually attend a desi party on or off campus, this is my only chance!

Have to rewrite my stupid script for tomorrow morning, and I'm so so tired. Obviously I will write it in the morning - I just hope it has some standard, unlike what I've been mass-producing for the past eight weeks. I do get some ideas from time to time, about stories and film possibilities, which is a big leap from before, but I never remember to put it down on paper. I should make a notebook of ideas and start writing for myself. Maybe start my very first script of my own in new york city! Fun!!! I wish the weather there is better than here - some warm sunlight would do me a lot of good.. :)

Our steaming hot professor takes a lot of pride from booming. Maybe you can impress him with your technique. We should hit the gym next quarter and get in shape. And maybe set a goal to be more healthy. Or we can just as easily continue being extremely unhealthy. Whatever is is.. as long as we do it together, I won't feel so bad. Good luck writing the stupid goddamn pointless script for stupid N.
