I got up half an hour back and thought that my late night conversation with a girl was a dream. It took me a few seconds to make myself believe that it was real.

This girl TZ is a student in my university. She is the only Tibetan student in my university.
I found her through an Indian guy who asked me to facebook her. We wrote a couple of messages back and forth. I was excited she replied. She was excited there was some one else who supports the Tibetans. I gave her my number in the last message and forgot about it.

An hour after that I got a call from an unknown number. There was no way I was going to answer it after the kind of day I had had. Thankfully, she left a voicemail and I called her back. I was my strange chatty self - the kind when I'm so excited to meet some one new. We talked about Tibet, and the ignorance of the West. I told her about the calls and emails I've been getting related to the film. She said that all her friends in other universities were faced with the same situation when trying to spread awareness about Tibet. I asked her about how she got here. She told me she was born in India and stayed there until her 10th grade, and then moved here with her family. She seems like a really nice and strong person, even though she is only in her second year undergrad. I'm so so happy I found her.

She agreed to speak today at the screening. She was planning to hold a petition signing on Friday, so I asked her to get some petition papers today as well. Suddenly I feel so relieved, knowing that I'm not alone.

Hope everything goes smoothly today. Pray for me :)

How did it go? And why is the blog private suddenly?

Yeah NC - what's up with going private and all. Glad you are public again.

perakath, I'll take a stab at how the event probably went - let's see how close I come to what really happened:

The Tibetan girl probably spoke before the film. NC, the nice girl she is, let her be the center of
attention. I doubt she even got a chance to prepare for her speech with all the running around :-O The Chinese folks were probably there protesting, but no violence and all.

I would say overall a grand success with bunch of people!

What do you say NC? ;-)

Apple Bee, you are a genius!

Aditya: AB said it right. It went well - not exactly as I had envisioned it - but it did have an impact.
About going private - freaked out when someone was found to be googling me before the event. Didn't want my blog to be discovered by the lunatics. Sorry for the trouble :)
