oprah versus ellen :)

After "Metro" with all it's songs, a trip to Walmart with RH, a letter to someone back home, and now "Cheeni Kum" and some badly cooked Calamari, I feel great!

Finally a whole day off! Before "Metro" was a good conversation, Dr. Phil/Maury, and Ellen/Oprah. That brings me to my conflict between these two sets of programs that come at the same time. Dr. Phil and Maury are relatively new to me, but they offer the same scenario as Oprah and Ellen. Before I came here, Ellen had been a recent discovery. She was her perky self providing a relief from Oprah's mostly serious shows. I switched my loyalties to a great extent - especially since I came here, since both shows come at the same time. I know it's really stupid to think so much about this in the first place, but anyways...

So then came the week of Ellen's birthday celebration shows - and Ellen's monotonous dancing and jumping around put me off. Next rational step was Oprah. As I switch channels, I realize that I have changed. I am no more enraptured by Oprah's guests and subjects - the way I used to be when I sat in front of the TV and not with my parents having breakfast on the dining table. I now see her as being so slow and boring. She looks too old, too short and badly dressed!

It is a silly dilemma, but it is my own. My friend RH thinks I watch way too much TV - but the truth is I really don't - at least not even half as much as I would like to. But when I do, I like to fight the passivity that it imposes on its viewers. Haha - I really must have a sad life!

Talking about sad lives, now begins the sad part of "Cheeni Kum" - I can't seem to remember why I liked this film. It is quite nonsensical at several places. But I got to see Qutab Minar! And remember the last time I was there.. :)
